In something of a down season for the Nittany Lions, Penn State fans will still get to watch their team play on college football's biggest day. Despite finishing 7-5 and failing to defeat a ranked opponent, blue and white will head to Tampa to compete in the Outback Bowl against the 7-5 Florida Gators on January 1. This will be the third meeting ever between the two programs, who have split the series thus far with a bowl victory for each. In other news, Temple will not land a bowl appearance at all when the games kickoff on December 18. The Owls were in good shape heading into the home stretch, but back-to-back losses against Ohio and Miami of Ohio dropped their final record to 8-4. While that makes them bowl eligible, it wasn't enough to garner much interest coming out of the MAC conference. >> Penn State to face Florida in Outback Bowl [CSN]
